The last few weeks I’ve been getting up with the sun. The morning and sunrise is such a beautiful time. It’s early, but it’s so quiet and new. The weather is perfect right now and the sunrise is beautiful to watch coming up over the mountains shining light on the sky and clouds. It makes me happy. And it wakes me up. The sun turns on my brain and body for the day and helps me feel motivated to do all the things. I am truly solar powered. And it helps. And if I’m way tired during the day I can give myself permission to lay down and take a nap. But the last few days I haven’t even needed a nap and made it through the whole day. That’s a miracle.
I sit in the backyard and watch the sunrise. I notice the beauty from all the angles right in my own backyard.
I can read my daily Book of Mormon. My “Jesus calling” book of daily Jesus devotionals. I stretch on the inversion chair on the back porch- I love hanging upside down, looking at the world from a different perspective. The trees the sky the upside down house. It clears my brain and heart. It looks cool!
I can walk around the yard and pull some weeds, admire the beautiful sunflowers that Cole planted and see how they’ve grown and changed each day. I can watch the birds fly around the trees. The squirrels cruise along the top of the fence and race through the branches. Sometimes there’s deer walking through, or the cutest family of quail with 7 babies not even taller than the grass staying clustered together as they explore. I can check my email. Send texts. Plan out the day. Think and be still.
I can give my kids hugs when they go out the door to work and help them with breakfast.
I love the mornings. They have been beautiful and a blessing from God to me.
And the clouds today were so fantastic
